Why does Facebook show someone accepted your friend request for whom you didn't even send? Is that a bug?

I am beginning to think that this is a very complicated Facebook bug that they do not know how to handle...and therefore we get no comments on the matter at all from them...all in all, as said before, there is not much chatting about this over internet, - still, only from our communication here it is clear that the problem is extensive.
Add an additional security step to the process of friend requesting.
Before allowing ANY friend request to be sent, prompt the sender for a password or a security question answer.
Thank you for attending to this important matter.

Facebook never shows like that.Thinking that the other person accepted your friend request.
Unless you or someone from your profile sends the friend request, you cannot get notification like that.

If you're really worried that someone have accessed your account without your permission, then do change the password of fb and emailaddress.

To check the friend requests sent earlier, do the following steps.
step1: press on see all
pressing see all directs you to another page in faceebook.

step 2:
view sent requests
That is less likely to happen. Facebook doesn't send friend requests by itself. It might as well be a glitch. Anyway, you can still dig the Activity log to check when the request has been sent. Sometimes we tend to click the Add friend button subconsciously. So it's more likely to be on you and not facebook.

I see people saying this can't happen... I just began searching the answer to this as well, as I had a notification that that Julie ****** has accepted my friend request. It had been months since I sent any friend requests, and I did not recognize the name. Per facebook instructions I went into settings and looked at sent friend requests, and this person was not listed there.
The request was never sent, yet was somehow accepted.
