How do I stop auto buffering of videos in Facebook?

How do I stop auto buffering of videos in Facebook?

When I scroll news feed, videos are buffered automatically even though i didn't click Play button or don't want to watch. How to stop this ?

So this morning I woke up to a rude shock – Facebook was literally  forcing me to watch videos on my timeline. Immediately, there were  status updates complaining about this. It seems Facebook has started auto play of videos only on the desktop  site but still I have included the ways to change the settings on its  app too.
On Facebook’s Desktop site –
  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Click on Videos on the bottom left.
  3. The video settings will be displayed. In the second one ‘Auto-play’ videos, Change ‘Default’ to ‘Off’. You are done.

On Facebook’s iOS app –
The process is similar for the mobile apps, though on my phone (iOS)  ‘Auto-play’ was off by default. There was an option whereby I could  choose when to auto play videos and when not to.
  1. Click on the more button on the bottom right of the Facebook app.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Select Account Settings.
  4. Go to Videos and Photos.
  5. In the Auto play setting, it will be ‘never auto play videos’. If you don’t want to autoplay, just leave it as it is.
  6. If the default option selected is something else and you want to stop autoplay, then select ‘Never Autoplay videos’.
    iOS
You can change it to Auto-play ‘On Mobile Data and Wi-Fi Connections’  if you always want to autoplay. The other option is to Autoplay ‘On  Wi-Fi Connections Only’ which will enable you to save mobile data.
On Facebook’s Android app –
  1. Click on the three horizontal bars on the top right of the Facebook app.
  2. Scroll down and click on ‘App settings’.
  3. By default, the option for ‘Videos play automatically’ should be Off. You can change it to ‘On’ or ‘Wi-Fi only’ if you desire.

Thanks for everyone answwer me on this question, But all answers here about how to stop auto-play of facebook videos which is not the question about !
I am asking if somone has a way to stop buffering which main “ loading video without playing” so this leading to consume all of your data .
Thanks in Advance.

You could use the most straight forward way, by visiting your settings --> video tab and turning videos off.
See this link on Facebook
all the 5 answers (as of now) solve the problem of auto-play of html5 videos and NOT auto-BUFFERING which is what is asked. as of now, only workarounds exist…like blocking *video*.fbcdn.net* with addons like adblockplus, noscript, etc. no official solution (to the best of my knowledge) exists now.
Step one: First open the Facebook page i.e your own account and then go to the settings. You can find this “setting” option just above the “log out” option.

Step two: When you done with that in the bottom at the left column you will see a “Video” Option click on that.

Step three: Now you will see a “auto-play video” option . At the right corner you will be able to see “default” option just click on that.

Step four: when you clicked on the default option you can choose from “default”, “on” and “off”. So click on the off option to switch off Facebook auto play.

Now for the mobile users here are the easy steps to switch off Facebook auto play.

Step one: First you have to visit your “App settings” by clicking “view my profile”.

Step two: In the setting option you can choose between to switch off Facebook auto play completely or you can again select between mobile data and WiFi.
